Catches, canons and drinking songs

to your rude health,

Song: Here’s a health to our fleet, to our great King...

by William Turner . A Catch for Three voices , in B-flat major

Text:

Here’s a health to our fleet,
to our great King and Queen,
whilst the cannon do roar,
and the steeples do ring,
with fire’s triumphant,
the city shall shine,
as Tourville’s burnt squadrons
enlighten the main,
may the tyrant of France
thus be humbled each day,
may his arms fall by land
as his Navy at sea,
whilst William and Mary
with trophies are crowned,
may this be our wish
as the bumpers go round.
