Tom Warren my sending this is not pretending to fee or reward,
it came in my head as I lay in bed, so I send it the Catch Club to show my regard,
the music’s my writing, the words my inditing, ’twill answer in score,
if it does not divert it can do no hurt, so Secretaire Warren adieu! one word more,
perhaps I’m the bolder because I’m a soldier (though now on half pay,)
yet my country to serve I’m contented to starve, against those in power I’ve nothing to say.
